Letter From The President 2019

February 2019

Hello and Happy New Year to everyone!

As we start the 2019 year, there is much to be pleased about for the Chapter. We have a new Board with a few new faces and although we struggled with the decision as to how to go forward, especially as it was just a few of us “manning the fort”, we decided after much discussion, that our mission to help our Alma Mater was too important a cause that we must continue to support.

Please welcome to the Board for the next 2 years: myself, Heather Potter – President, Vice President – Sarah Vaughan, Treasurer – Leslyn Weekes and Secretary – Francene Simmonds. We are also looking for members to help with 3 new roles that we have created as a way to further engage and be an outreach tool to the community at large. On top of these new positions, we thought that a digital quarterly newsletter, giving highlights of the chapter, our goals, our accomplishments and our activities planned, would be another tool to help communicate with the membership. We will give more information on the new roles in the newsletter.

This year, the Board and I have decided to make as one of our main goals the fortification of the membership, ramping up our engagement and continuing to be a resource for the members. We can only do this if you make the decision to be more involved as a member – we have done great work for the school in the past and we hope to continue doing so in the future. Believe me, we do make a difference in the lives of the girls back home!

I look forward to taking the helm once again as President and hope that I can count on your continued support in the coming year.

Thanks,

Heather Potter, President
